This is one of the first projects we completed in PLTW-IED. It was the Puzzle Cube. Our task was to create a 3x3x3 Cube made up of 5 or more pieces each piece containg at least 56 or more smaller cubes. To start we thought up our puzzle pieces that would complete our goal. We had a secondary task that we should try to achieve. It was that we had to only hold the top blocks of the cube but yet it still stayed together. At first I thought it would be a difficult task but I soon realized the it was simpler than Mr. Thompson made it out to be.
Design

To start off the project we thought up a main design for the rest of the project. Then we would color it in and take the three layers apart. and color in the blocks that make up each of the individual five pieces. Then we colored in the larger ismoetric drawing of the cube corresponding each indiviual block with the actual block color. This helps visualize the dinal project in its early sta

The cube took about a week to design thinking up all the possiblities possible and narrowing it down to the perfect combonation of pieces so that when holding only the top layer it will stay together. Which it does, if held in the correct spot. This task was some-what easy to do it took only abou three designs
Dimensioning
![Picture](/uploads/9/6/9/2/9692252/9690122.jpg?1)
Dimensioning is a key part of creating a project. Without the proper dimesioning the whole project could turn out wrong. Make sure to let it be known what units you are measuring in because that is important as well. The SI unit length is different from the American measuring standards. If you create it in the wrong units the cube could be too small or lopsided. This would make it difficult for another person if they were trying to create a replica of it. With proper dimensioning then if you make a mistake it is easier to go back and fix but if the dimensions are improper then it becomes difficult.
Assembeling

The assembely portion of the project was some-what difficult. Figuring out where each piece went was a challenge but in the end it was a task I completed with ease. Learning to use inventor was by far the most difficult thing about this project but I am getting the hang of it. The complexity of the software allows you to be able to do so much and it is taking some time to understand it more fully.
Inventor Drawing

The Idw. part of the project took some getting used to. You had to use a specially desgined premade format that i had trouble uploading it to the correct spot so I could use it. After finally completeing thes task I Put all my parts together and formed the piece of the online computer portion of the project.
The Box

The creating a unique desgin for the container that our box would be held in was simple. You had to create a correctly demensioned box that would fit your cube perfectly. Mine turned out to be a little snug the first two times but the third I got it to fit perfectly. The desgin on the box was an internet phenominon called memes they are pictures used to create funny and somtimes insulting situations for people to laugh at. That si the completion of the first large project in Project Lead The Way and so far it has been lots of fun and it is a joyful expierience taking part in this class.
